SCCLA’s 38th Annual Food Basket Drive (2024)

SCCLA thanks the many donors and volunteers who supported SCCLA and Chinatown Service Center's (CSC) 38th Annual Holiday Food Basket Drive on Saturday, December 14, 2024 in Chinatown!

Over 100 volunteers from SCCLA, CSC, Chinese-American Elected Officials (CEO), Bank of America, Dodgers Asian Employee Resource Group, and United Charity Foundation met on Saturday morning in the Cathay Bank parking lot. We unloaded and sorted over 400 pounds of high-quality food items, ranging from dried mushrooms to quail eggs to chocolate. By 11am, we distributed bountiful food baskets containing 26 items to approximately 300 families served by CSC.

We thank the SCCLA Past Presidents, Board Members, LA Superior Court judges, practicing and retired attorneys, law students, young children, and other community members who were among the many enthusiastic volunteers! We are touched by the generosity of the community to help families in need during the holidays.

Thank you to the SCCLA team for organizing a smooth and successful event: Faith Santoso, Nadine Tan, Kenny Chung, Phoebe Hu, Jeffrey Kwong, and Christina Shay.

SCCLA’s 37th Annual Food Basket Drive (2023)

SCCLA extends its greatest appreciation to all donors and volunteers who contributed

to its 37th Annual Holiday Food Basket Drive that took place Saturday, December 16,

2023, at Cathay Bank’s parking lot, 777 N. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90012 (across

from Chinatown Service Center).

We could not have done it without you. Over 80 SCCLA’s families and friends,

including SCCLA Past Presidents, Board Members, several LA Superior Court Judges,

practicing attorneys, law students, and young children—distributed 29 food items to 325

families served by Chinatown Service Center (“CSC”). We are proud to continue our

partnership with CSC and are grateful to you for sharing your time to help these

families.

SCCLA’s 35th Annual Food Basket Drive (2021)

SCCLA’s 35^th Annual Holiday Food Basket distribution took place throughout the week of December 20^th, 2021, at Chinatown Service Center (“CSC”), 767 N. Broadway Ste. 400, Los Angeles, CA 90012.  With your generous donation, SCCLA was able to distribute 320 “food baskets” to families of various ethnic backgrounds that have been pre-selected by CSC for need. 

To reduce people’s exposure to COVID-19 virus, CSC continued to distribute the food baskets, along with children’s toys, via individual appointment. 

SCCLA would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the donors listed below for continuing to bring holiday joy to families in Los Angeles county.  With your generous donation, SCCLA was able to fill the “food basket” with items such as a $40 Gift card from HK Good Fortune Supermarket, two kinds of “Feast from the East” sesame dressings, and two Cutie Panda Gift Tins from Kee Wah Bakery, all valued at over $90.
