Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association
SCCLA joined the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (“NAPABA”) and Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund’s amicus brief in Department of Commerce v. New York, filed in the United States Supreme Court. SCCLA stands in solidarity with sixty-four bar associations and AAPI community service organizations who oppose the addition of a citizenship question on the 2020 Census. The Census Bureau must finalize the census forms in June to be properly prepared to conduct the enumeration in 2020. Oral argument will be held on April 23, 2019. Read the full brief here.
