Every other year, SCCLA presents a one-day workshop aimed at elevating and maximizing our legal skills and image, with emphasis on the unique challenges facing Asian women advocates.
This event offers 6 hours of and includes lunch. Topics generally include:
1. Phoenix Rising -- defining your identity as an Asian American Lawyer and dismantling stereotypes
2. Crouching Tiger -- Presence and Presentation, in the Courtroom and Boardroom
3. Have something difficult to Say ? Handling Confrontation and Assertiveness Training
4. Balancing Career and Life Goals
5. Lighten Up – Maintaining your Sense of Humor in a Stressful Profession
This is not a typical workshop. It will include insight and practical exercises for overcoming internal and external obstacles we face as counselors and advocates, coaching and skills training, to teach you HOW to achieve all the intangibles that we know we need, we wish we had, and want to develop. Women and men at all experience levels are encouraged to attend. |
